Can't you just wire a pushbutton to the pins on the motherboard?

Has anyone successfully added an arcade button to power on/off a Dell Optiplex 3020? I’m stuck.

Maybe try syncing the game to monitor refresh in mame, or vice versa. Turn off frame skipping etc.

It doesn't solve it, unfortunately.

Throwing in just a little tidbit here for people looking to troubleshoot linking arcade with real hardware. (SOOO AWESOME!!!!)

San Francisco Rush runs faster in mame than it does on actual hardware. My guess is original hardware actually lags just a little bit or its clock is just a little lower than advertised. Imperceptible but enough to add an entire second to a 5 minute race.

To qualify my opinion ill say i was the world record holder on track 2 until a couple months ago on the actual arcade cabinet and my times are faster in mame than they are on the cab consistently.

In fact, what happens is that in MAME the cart reaches higher speeds, compared to Arcade. I believe the reason is inaccurate emulation.

For those following the ffb plugin, there has been a fork to Boom's great plugin by a user MightyMike. His recent releases include ffb for Fast 'n Furious, FnF Drift, FnF Supercars.

Why is the "MAME 64bit Outputs" folder missing files?

Why did Boomslang releases stop at version 2.0.0.37?

Apologies if this is somewhere in the forum and I can’t find it. I have the U-trak RGB controller and I-pac Ultimate I/O board which seems to be a fairly common setup. I’m setting up a trial run of my arcade and can’t figure out how to ground the RGB board. The wiring harness for the I-pac takes up the ground pin location. I’m assuming I am missing something simple but curious how others have it setup. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the reply. When you say to crop some of the lines, are you referring to changing crt emu driver settings?  I was playing around with the monitor defaults but I’m afraid of breaking things. Any advice on how to properly do so will be appreciated.

And yes if I turn it side ways it works perfectly except this tv is in a fixed arcade cabinet running multiple duties to play various landscape and portrait games. Donkey kong for example works fine. It’s only resolutions like Pac-Man that cause me an issue on that specific tv.

Maybe you can use 280 lines and crop 4 lines up and down ?

Would increase the hz too.

Or as it seems you have several screens, why not rotating the TV and use the native resolution for vertical games?

Yeah, but it's a lot of fiddling. Ultimately, even if I could get a perfect calibration through Vive Mouse it feels like a little more trouble than it's worth. OpenVR2Key works well for remapping additional buttons to keypresses, and I imagine I could just use JoyToKey if I need right click for a game. I've also changed my tracker to be recognised as a controller, which is more useful, so some things that apply to trackers might not work with a spoofed controller.

Actually I think I may have changed my tracker to a controller as well, probably to get it to work with Vive Mouse or something else.

So what do you mean to use OpenVR2Key to work with, is that to use with Virtual Desktop?

I'm trying to think what would give the best setup for you. I'd be happy to help where I can with programming or testing. If you want to let me know what problems you are having at the moment with it?

I can understand the hesitancy with using Vive Mouse, it gave the best results for me with how far I got with the vive but it's a closed sourced program, if it could be modified it would be a lot better.

I was doing something similar with Virtual Desktop using a Meta Quest VR headset and there was a project posted here by NailBuster that did it with a custom program. You posted in the thread:

https://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,166078.msg1760535.html

I tried to do the same with a program on the quest where you had a 16:9 box and I would line it up with the screen and it could see where the controller intersect the screen and give mouse co-ords via wifi to a pc.

But it was a lot of peeking back and forth in the headset. If I went further with it then the controllers would allow the box to be moved around. But I didn't go that far before switching to the vive stuff.

I haven't tried Virtual Desktop with a vive headset though (I got the original one).
