It's in March and we are going to Tassie and Melbourne for a couple of weeks. Since she organised most of that, I better think of something.

I agree with this. There's almost nothing material I could get my wife that she doesn't already have but she would love a vacation to anywhere (especially since we haven't traveled since Covid started - we even cancelled a 2 week vacation to Hawaii).
That said, for her next birthday I'm probably going to get her copies of all the Wes Anderson movies on disc since she loves them so much.

I’ve gotten my wife two shows on disc “just in case they stop streaming them” and while they were well received at the time, they all still reside in the shrink wrap. Going to be a rare piece of media that’s not available for streaming these days.

Glad I'm not the only one that's happened to. I did this before streaming was a thing. Think she watched one out of 7 seasons and the rest have just been sitting there for the last 10 years.
If COVID isn't preventing people from getting together, when my wife had a similar birthday, I arranged an evening at her favorite restaurant and then had her friends all show up, some of whom live out of town and she hadn't seen for several years. Went over pretty well.

I have gotten her a few 'experience' presents in the past. We went ballooning on one birthday, and I got her a flight in a glider for another. I know she would LOVE to try parachuting, but she'd want to me to go too. F that...

I've decided to get her a gift card for a weekend stay near a beach with a horse ride on the beach. She hasn't ridden in years and I know she'd like to. I've never ridden, but how hard could it be 😄

Ok, Im not a pilot, but a few things kinda stick out in this film. First, once that door cracked open wouldnt the pressure inside/outside equalize? (no longer sucking).
Second, why and how did the engine restart? Third: why did he unfasten his seat belt? Was the belt defective?
But I do agree, getting sucked out of a plane would be very bad.

Hehe. It's a tongue in cheek 'analysis' video. What actually happened is the guy deliberately crashed his plane, but pretended it was an engine failure. Hence he happened to have a parachute on, and a gazillion cameras all over including the selfie stick which he had the presence of mind to bring with him.
He's been copping flak from the aviation world for it and rightly so. Getting sucked out of a light plane is not a thing. Most of them (including his and mine) are so leaky there is really no difference in air pressure outside or in. In fact mine can be flown with the doors off. And if course you should always be wearing a seatbelt!

In all seriousness, you'll be near the water so add that to your plans if you don't live by the sea already. I live in a seaside town (Canada) and even I don't get out doing water stuff enough. Go kayaking, go on a whale-watching or similar excursion, go eat out at a floating restaurant.
