Title: Wizard of Wor?
Post by: smass on June 04, 2017, 11:47:57 am
A friend of my wife's has a working Wizard of Wor.  Its been in his house for a decade or so and appears from the pictures to be in good shape.  He claims everything works on it.  I would assume that its possible the monitor will need a cap kit and it will need some general cleaning up.

I am not a particular fan of the game, but the artwork is really cool and its an early midway.  If I can get it for a good price I may just clean it up and keep it - or offer it in trade for something I really want.

He floated a price of $500 for it.  What is a reasonable price to offer do you all think?  :)

not a bad price in my book.. but not a good price.  If its up and playing and all three sound channels are working then I would go for it.. its a great looking game that had good replay value and is blast with 2 people.

Holy crap cw lives!  Where have you been man?

$500 is about right for a nice working WoW.  Try to get it down some.

I was aggressive and offered him $300.  I expected a counter - but he took the offer.  Turns out it was his partner's machine and he passed away a few years ago.  Its been in their house for the past 15 years.  He claims it works 100%.  At $300 I will take my chances - he told me he just wanted it to go to someone who would appreciate it and didn't want to deal with a bunch of strangers on CL or Ebay (he knows my wife).

So I am picking it up tomorrow.  I will post more pics once I have it in my possession :)

I love out of the ordinary grabs. Maybe me considering this out of the ordinary shows my age/inexperience.

I dig the colours of the cab. Got a nice classic vibe to it.
