Title: Super Sprint / PC Wheel settings
Post by: zudmsc on September 24, 2006, 11:32:40 am
Hello All,

I am trying to set-up my PC wheel and pedals to run Super Sprint.  I am having trouble controlling the car.  I know the original game had a 360 degree wheel.  Any ideas on how to change the settings uder analog control to get my wheel to work better?   :banghead:

No way to use a wheel you have top play it with a spinner

Or a 360 wheel, or - surprisingly - a joystick! Who knew? It plays great with a joystick.

I wouldn't give up trying to play it with a PC wheel 270(?) degree, though. Keep digging.

Joystick? ??? Analog or digital?  Personally I don't like either (although a digital feels a little better than my analog for me).

You'd need to edit the source to convert absolute analog inputs as scaled relative analog (like a thumb pad mouse).  Mame doesn't, as there are two ways to convert absolute analog input to relative, and some games play better with one way while other work better with the other.  The two ways are thumbpad-like (aka absolute value as speed, or absolute -> scaled relative), and delta of absolutes (aka bounded relative, or absolute value and time T - absolute value at time (T-1) = relative).
