Here's a rendering of what the control panel ought to look like with buttons on it.  The trigger stick isn't shown because I didn't feel like making a model of one.  If anyone has a decent TRON stick model, please send it my way.

That really is very, very nice artwork.  Some of the best ever to show up on this site.  The gradiant textures on your models are very subtle and cool and the overall color scheme is wonderful.

It's a lesser-known 3D app called Caligari trueSpace6 (http://www.caligari.com/).  It's the same program I used to model and render the Recognizers.

If you don't mind.....I would like to have the sideart image printed as poster for our gameroom. I get an error when I try to download the sideart file.....all other files work  ???

I haven't done any additional artwork for my arcade.  In fact, I never actually built the control panel that I mocked up.  I'm still using a SlikStik classic CP on my cabinet.

I would really like to see how the side art looks as a poster.  I'd recommend cropping it a bit, though.

I will have to add a little frame because they always crop the pictures and I have to use the correct ratio....I will take a pic when it's hanging in the room. I'm building a recognizer (~1m high) of flat wood. I paint the inside black with a red uv-active 1cm-border around...I'm sure it will look very good with our blacklight and the poster beside it :)

I have also asked Jarrett for the PSD files and he said he would try to dig them out. Hopefully he will find them but he did warn me that they are huge i.e. hundreds of MB.

Maybe you could edit them with his permission if he uploads them to a hosting site?

Any word on the PSD files? I've tabbed this and even though my artwork is underway would absolutely ditch mine in favour of having a Space Paranoids machine  :applaud:

Having seen the machine Disney made up it gets the old nostalgic juices flowing   :lol  Does anyone have a contact for Jarrett or perhaps can pass a message on?

PSD links have been added to the top of the thread.  Please don't download the PSD files unless you really intend to do something with them.  I'm not sure how much bandwidth I'm allowed to use, and the zipped files are quite substantial. If anyone is willing to host the files for me, I'd be most appreciative.

On an unrelated note, I recently acquired a genuine Tron cabinet that I plan to refurbish.  I'll probably become active in the community again once I start that project.  The game doesn't play, so I think I have my work cut out for me.  I'd like to host a Tron viewing party just before Tron Legacy premieres, and it would be nice to have the cabinet up and running by then.

I love the artwork and having a cabinet to go with a Tron viewing party is a really great idea! Looking forward seening the "work in progress" pictures of the refurbishing process.

I'm glad to see you got a Tron cabinet. I recently acquired a Tron cabaret myself. Unfortunately it has been converted to a Trivia Whiz. I have the parts for the cp and the artwork for the bezel but need to get a set of boards for it. I'm looking forward to following your progress when you start the thread for it.

Anyway I could get your trueSpace 3d file for this control panel?  My current control panel is very similar and I've wanted to do a Space Paranoids theme for a really long time.  I suck with graphics and I think these are perfect start for my setup.  I need to edit the control panel to an 8 button layout with a second joy stick for players 1 & 2 on the right side of the buttons.  Also, I'm going to remove the joystick up near player 3 and put in a Tron flight stick.

If possible can you please post the trueSpace 3d files for your control panel?

Looking at the full PSD - This layout is almost identical to my already built control panel with some minor changes.  Unfortunately I built my control panel without any kind of drilling guide and I'm having a difficult time re-creating my control panel in the computer so I can do artwork like this.  I really want my control panel to be identical to this with a couple minor changes.  I need it to be a bit bigger at 20 x 48 with a 8 button layout and rotating joys for player 1 & 2 to the right of their buttons.

This controller layout and artwork is utterly amazing, especially the layering/grouping so it can be truly customized with minimal work.  Amazing.

To answer the questions from two years ago, the panel is 46" wide and 17" deep in the designs.

Also, I finished rebuilding the Tron machine I mentioned like three years ago. It turned out pretty nice.
