Title: arcadeos, arcade monitor, slanted picture
Post by: neuromancer on June 17, 2002, 07:43:57 am
OK,

When ArcadeOS is running, the picture on my arcade monitor is basically what I would expect. When I start a game in vantage, the picture is skewed. A line on the bottom of the (vertical) screen slants from lower left up at about a 45 degree angle.

When I start a game in MAME it is slanted too, but I also get multiple copies of it on the screen. In either case when I go back to Arcadeos I get a good picture again.

There is another issue (maybe unrelated) every once in a while, the left side of the screen "splits". A horizontal line becomes a >.
This effect only lasts several seconds. I'm thinking that might be a problem with the horizontal synch.

Technical details: Jaton video card with trident chipset. I used a VGA cable with 5 BNC connectors. I took the H and the V wire and twisted them together and connected them to the synch wire on the monitor.

Any ideas?

Thanks
