Title: Cannot get vertical games to run in 240p. Switches to 496i
Post by: bodine1231 on March 17, 2019, 11:56:54 am
Have all the latest builds on windows 10,ati 5450. I'm trying to set up a vertical only cabinet on my Astro City. Every game that I try switchres changes it to 1248x496i instead of 320x240p and makes everything look blurry. I'm sure theres an easy setting but I searched all over and cant find.

You need to tell GM that your setup is vertical. You do that by means of the -orientation option. Use either -orientation rotate_r or -orientation rotate_l.

When I launch mame its already rotated, the orientation is set to vertical in the .ini.

Ok tried something different. In 'settings' on VMMaker I changed monitor rotation from "vertical fixed" to "rotating to the right". Games are launching in 240p but they are squished now

(testing on PVM until i move to cab)

Fixed it! I unchecked (desktop rotates too) in the VMMaker settings.
