Just wondered if anyone had any experience with SNES modding?
I recently acquired a SNES bundle for a reasonable price but the actual console was DOA and would not power up.
I found the pico fuse had blown and replaced it but still have the same problem.
So after taking a closer look ive found that one of the soldered wires thats part of the no button region mod has broke off.
Problem is I have no idea where its from as I cant see any obvious signs.
Any ideas?
Its the brown wire in the pic thats conected to pin 2 of the IC.

SNES was region locked? I thought if you just remove the small tabs in the cart slot you could connect your Super Famicom games in it and you're good to go.
Unless you're talking about a PAL/NTSC mod?
-
It's news to me as well.
I'm not sure why you'd want a pal snes anyway.... several games weren't adjusted for the frequency change so they play wrong. That's why the snes classic only supports ntsc roms, even for the European release.

Ive already got a Pitendo!
I wanted something to play scope games with!

Don't you dare say there is something that the Pi isn't the best solution for. That is grounds for excommunication from the Church of Pi. ;)
-
Fear not Mike! I already have the best Solution!
But sometimes its just nice to have something original ;)
I kinda missed the eject button on the SNES! Lol

Serious question, do you just have a dump of all the games or did you filter out the junk and just put what you wanted on there?
I only ask because the WWF games are god awful on the NES.

Fair q lol
There is a full set of roms on there for NES and SNES but they were filtered to get rid of non working games, bootlegs etc etc all just clean dumps.
