Hopefully everyone has some good plans for tonight. Share any events you have going on.
I'm relaxing tonight and started the twin peaks series while my S/O is studying for the bar.

Working on refurbing a 1905 Kimball Piano. Got it stripped, sanded, refinished.
Rewired a few strings. A little bit of polishing.
Pulled the action out, now I'm fixing several damper brackets that were broken, replacing a few springs and damper felts.
It's not classic arcade action, just way way way more old school <G>

went to the bulk food outlet and bought $36 worth of winegums and runts candies and watching Mr. Rogers-a-thon on Twitch.
-
Stocking up on meat for a pre-memorial day party tomorrow. Siphoned out two gallons of hard cider and it's actually good. Going to do a Texas crutch brisket and couple of racks of ribs.
Got about 20 confirmed guests. Enough beer to drown a horse. Should be fun.

A Texan is going to throw a party with beer and bbq on a holiday. You are a walking stereotype man. ;)
I wanted to finish my world of Nintendo reproduction cabinet this weekend but I'm not really supposed to lift anything heavy and it weighs a ton. So I'm watching Jessica Jones, the one Marvel tv series I hadn't got around to yet in preparation for the defenders this summer. So far it's the "be paranoid and watch JJ ---fudgesicle--- Luke Cage" show.
I'm also going through Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 on the pc. I really liked the first game so I wanted to do the second just to finish out the story. I can certainly see why this game got bad reviews as the first level or two are really crap, but it really picks up after that and I'm having a good time with it.
In addition I want to try and learn how to script for the Unity engine. BYOR here we come!

Writing my game.
It's a PC game, it's sprawling, it's complicated, it's way too big for one person to finish, and I'm doing it by myself anyway.
Been hacking on it for almost five years now.
It's... 95% done? Getting real, real close.
I am a strange combination of excited and tired of it.
I've just got to finish it.
(Before anyone asks, no, it won't run on an arcade cabinet; ain't that kind of thing. A little more Falcon 4.0, a little less Aero Fighters.)

Well, my wife thanks you for the laugh, Howard. I started to feign offense but realized many foreigners were eager to come, and my facebook profile pic is me in front of the Stubbs BBQ sign also advertising beer and live music. So... Yeah.
Anyway, up at 5:30am to get this monster started...

Must have the flu. Slept 14 hours straight though. Reading Game Engine Architecture by Jason Gregory. It is a solid read.

Hey stereotypes are usually based in truth. I'm at the heart attack/meth/heroin/obesity/uneducated capital of the world... you've just got to embrace it at some point. Man you had to post lovely meat. I'm pretty sure my heart Dr. is going to tell me to stop eating that stuff when I see him Thur. Not sure if life is worth the sacrifice tbh.

Edit: make that waiting in lobbies forever.

I'm waiting for the updates which fix all the issues and add single player mode, but yeah, word on the street is it's awesome.
We've got to schedule some matches with everyone on the forum.

The server issues aren't as bad as the internet makes it out to be.
5 min or so wait to get in a lobby. And sometimes you randomly get booted but thats it really. The gameplay is fun, i can see it getting old if they don't add more modes. But the game is a blast. I actually enjoy being a counsler more than jason. Still trying to figure it out though.

My Friday Saturday.
You went to a park and took photos of strangers' butts?

Thats my butt, I'm surprised and a little offended you didn't recognize it.
Was Claiming a 5C+ in the French claiming system scale (like a 5.9-5.10a un the North American system) with a over hang and up to 28m. Technically it was Friday night back in the USA. It's a lot of fun, Highly recommend it.

Not when I compare it to my wife. She could be in the cheese fork thread. :burgerking:

So how long do you all sit there and pray to Jeff Foxworthy?

At least a good four hours before we head down to the snake pit and sacrifice the virgins and the sinners.

I know there has to be something to it but as some one who has never been to a NASS car race it just looks and sounds boring. Whats the appeal?

The Indy 500 is something to see in person. The speed at which these cars go with precision is thrilling. Plus there's events that are occurring during the race that you can go and do, such as in the field in the middle there's a concert that is held featuring big name bands. At the end of the day if you don't like racing it would be boring.

track car racing that is more interesting (like F1) i feel is something best experienced on TV.
sure there is more corners and places for things to happen...but the tracks are so big you only see a part of it. at least on tv you get to see all the action.
I feel with indy and nascar it's just... left. straight. left. straight. left. (repeat) and the cars are so regulated that they are nearly identical in performance, the only way to advance seems to be by waiting for someone else to screw up.
-
I just never got the idea of watching cars do laps for four hours secretly hoping that there is a big wreck so that something interesting happens but at the same time having to pretend that you are in it for the racing. My mom likes nascar, and for the life of me I just don't get it. I think my problem is I'm a doer, not a spectator, so I'd rather be doing something than watching someone else do something. It's why the concept of twitch boggles my mind, even though I understand it on paper.

That's the great thing about personal interest and hobbies, others don't have to understand them all that matters is you enjoy them.

I used to watch NASCAR because all I got was Fox and PBS and it's not much fun to drink beer to Antiques Roadshow. Then I saw Dale smash the wall and I was done. There's an awful lot of backstory and personal drama involved in that sport that reminded me of wrestling.
I used to watch arena league football until the Dallas player got paralyzed from the neck down. I used to wonder whether that was a murky childhood memory but Google bore fruit...
