Title: Problems with Ikegami monitor
Post by: Yardley on June 12, 2018, 10:10:05 pm
Just picked up a nice Ikegami CRT monitor recently and I am having a problem with it that I don't have with my Sony PVM. Basically the only way I get a stable image is when I have my LCD monitor connected to the HDMI port of the video card along with the Ikegami on the VGA port. If I disconnect the LCD monitor, the Ikegami seems to lose sync, although I am not sure it is actually sync that is being lost, point is the picture becomes unstable. Below is a video of what happens when the LCD monitor is unplugged. Once I plug it back into the HDMI port, the Ikegami becomes stable instantly. Any thoughts? I am using csync through CRT EmuDriver by the way.

Ikegami's are known to be sensitive to sync in ways a lot of other monitors aren't. There are sync regenerators you can look into, and also a thread on the shmups forum by samiam about his problems with one. AFAIK there's no simple fix, though you could always try combining sync for yourself.

Disabling AMD External Events Utility fixed the problem! All synced up now without the need to ha e a second monitor plugged in to the hdmi port.

Nice, glad that sorted it.
