I'm trying to get these running with my HD4670. When I start Super Mario Bros. 3 or any other game i get a fatal error. I have attached a log from smb3.
Any help?

Hi yakk11,
Thanks for the log. However, it looks absolutely normal. Does the fatal error happen when exiting the game? Does it crash or something?

I can load the games just fine using MAMEUI 64bit outside of hyperspin using the single screen setting in the playchoice BIOS. When i try to load one via hyperlaunch/hyperspin, i get a window that pops up saying "AutoHotkey.dll Mame error - Fatal Error. I am running groovymame .145, if that helps.
-
Anything to add to this?

I just updated to .146u5 64bit build. Now the screen just goes black.

Hi yackk11,
I *think* I managed to reproduce your issue here. It happens when you play a multiple screen game full screen (just 1 full frame per monitor) and has to do with the multithreading implementation in GroovyMAME that's only targeted for single screen setups.
It works for me if I use these params:
groovymame pc_sm3 -numscreens 2 -nomt
Let me know if this makes any sense (I'm not using HS here so I have no clue what the "AutoHotkey.dll Mame error - Fatal Error" is about).

I tried that. It worked. I wonder why it can't load via hyperspin...

Unzipping the attached .ini into your groovymame directory should enable Calamity's settings for all Playchoice 10 games, so the settings will be sucked up when you start them from Hyperspin. I now get an actual screen, with music (instead of just the black screen I was getting before). Unfortunately, when I coin it up - the screen goes black. I wonder if it's because MAME is choosing to emulate the "select a game" screen rather than the actual game itself, if these cabinets had two screens to render.

step in the right direction!

Apart of those settings, try either: -screen0 \\.\DISPLAY1 or -screen1 \\.\DISPLAY1
One of those should make MAME focus the game screen on to the real monitor.

Any progress on this? Would love to start playing some Mike Tyson's Punch Out!! :D

You have to press the Play Choice 10's 'Enter' button After you coin up.
MAME defaults to the minus "-" key on the keyboard for the Play Choice 10's 'Enter' button.
If you let the timer run out the screen will go black again and you have to press the 'Enter' again after you coin up.
The timer is on the top screen which is invisible if you have focus set to the bottom screen on a single screen system.
Occasionally drop credits to keep the timer from running out.
The MAME Cheat file allows infinite time so you can play without worrying.
The screen going black after coin up is not a GroovyMAME specific issue it applies to MAME as well.

I will give this a shot tonight. Thanks!

This works! Thanks! Do you know if there is a way to auto load that cheat every time the rom is opened?
