Title: Any chance of a Groovy Mame for VGA/LCD monitors?
Post by: wad on July 18, 2011, 11:25:19 am
I really like the Groovy Mame ISO and the install options,  its just awesome.  Is there a chance that you could do the iso's without switchres and just svga lcd ini files as many more people are doing LCD conversions due to the scarcity of tubes?

Thanks again for such a great ISO!

Yeah I have actually thought about adding that option, when I have time it's definitely on the list of things TODO.

A list of LCDs that support oddball refresh rates would be nice too (and not just for the ISO). Need lots of user input/feedback/reporting on that though..

What can I uninstall to remove the 15.1 refresh rate in switchres and what would the best mame.ini settings be?  I would love to configure one to see how it looks on a big LCD?

Code: [Select]
#
modeline                  1
monitor                   multi
monitor_connector         DVI-0
monitor_orientation       horizontal
monitor_aspect            16:9
monitor_debug             0
soundsync                 0
cleanstretch              1
changeres                 1

Choose using the multi monitor type, and the above settings in mame.ini.  (/home/arcade/.mame/mame.ini)

Those allow me to mostly run games on my lcd and even still switch resolutions.
