Let me start off by saying thanks to everyone on this fourm! I couldn't have gotten this far in my project without it! I have Maximus Arcade running perfectly until i try and run it at start up. I have tried putting it in my startup folder and using instant sheller, either way I don't have any sound. If I start it from windows it works fine. I'm running windows XP 32 bit service pack 3. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance!

So I tried a test tonight and set the computer to autoboot into nestopia and I have sound. So I believe the problem is in Maximus and or its settings? And since I know pictures sell! Here is where I'm at with my project. The control panel is just a black and white copy for test fit. Needs some more tweaking. I took inspiration from a member here, stevenpbhs, and a pic I found online. Any help/feedback is appreciated! Thanks JP

Do yourself a favor. Get rid of the Maximus Arcade front end while you can. It has a ton of bugs in it and hasn't been updated in over 7 years. And you sir, have discovered another. It's also not compatible with the later versions of MAME.
Front ends have come a long way since then. There are a ton that are equal to, if not better than MA. Check out Launch Box: https://www.launchbox-app.com/ (https://www.launchbox-app.com/)
! No longer available (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auFheV88_3I#)
Good luck!

I would say try adding your sound manager application to your startup folder. Sounds like your computer is only booting up enough to start maximus.

I have checked out a couple other front end options. I'm going to try putting my sound app in the start up folder first though. Thanks for your help. I'll update if I find a fix.
