Title: How two wire jamma power cord?

I want to convert a  cab to a  jamma machine . I have wired arcade controls for mame cabs. The thing that worries me is the power cord (don't want to burn my house down lol) Do i just srtrip a power cord and then screw both ends to the power supply and plug it into a surge protector?
