Title: New Billabs LCD monitor

Just saw this posted today on Playmeter magazine's website:

Breakthrough innovation in the latest Billabs LCD: Synxity(tm)-powered . This is the second-generation of LCD display line-up by Billabs Corp. The LCD monitor is a product that has slowly been replacing its predecessor, the CRT monitor over the course of 10 years. Within the last three years of the coin-op industry, the LCD monitor has played a cutting-edge role in design, manufacturing of new equipment. However, in order to see a large-scale replacement of CRTs with LCDs, first we have to know some things about screen resolution and scan rates of older sync signals such as CGA. Why? Could it be because a large amount of games out in the field are still CGA games?  The numbers are staggering. The Synxity(tm)-powered LCD wakes up and does the following: It takes the sync signal in (CGA-SXGA) and digital-signal-processes (DSP) that signal, does real-time calculations, then effortlessly "fills and pulls" the processed image to fill the entire screen (from 5' to 50'), a routine that Billabs calls Autosync-ing.* In contrast to what other LCD monitor makers (Wells-Gardner, Kortek, Bestech, etc.) have done is to pre-program the sync rates to the LCD's AD-Board firmware by brute force. Hence, it would only work with a certain sync rate, and each and every time a new sync rate has to be pre-programmed into the firmware. If a new sync rate isn't found in this LCD's firmware, then the image would either "not show up" or "it would be placed off-centered, or minimized. Since none of these LCD brands have HSIZE, VSIZE controls, the image would suffer. For example, if a Bestech LCD has never been pre-programmed to work with Pace-o-matic's game board, then chances are it would display an image as shown in Fig. 2. Since the Bestech product has no size controls, the image would stay as shown. The Billabs Synxity(tm)-powered LCD does NOT need to be pre-programmed. And it comes with HSIZE, VSIZE controls. Plus it works with IR remote control for faster setup. All you have to do is give it signal and let it do its thing.
