Hello All,
I have some refurbished Happs 3" trackballs and accessory parts for sale.
All trackballs were pulled apart, washed, bearings re-oiled by vaccuum pressure, trackballs scrubbed back to a nice white.
All tested and working...

Sorry to hijack your thread, but how did you manage to get the whiteness from the trackballs again?. I just happened to ask that question a couple of hours ago. Again, sorry for the hijack.

Soap and water and a towel, they werent super filthy.....
Also try a bleach solution or take some comet and put it in water make slurry and clean it with that.....
Maybe use that tub and tile cleaner.....i think its called bleach white....The trackballs are durable so basically anything with a little bleach should do the trick....

Just want to say I got mine, and it's in great condition and works awesome (way better than my beat up one)! If you're thinking about getting a trackball at all, get one of these that are like-new and save like $50.

I'm also working on a simple ps/2 usb interface board as an attachment to the harness, so you can attach these to a PC. PS/2 is tested and working, just waiting on parts for the USB....
Will update as i test further.....

Not sure yet, I'd like to test the setup first before tossing out prices. I hope to have a dual interface for both USB and PS/2 all combined including the 3 buttons. I assure you it will be well below what the mainstream USB PS/2 adaptor boards go for on the Happs trackballs.
Once i get a working prototype, i'll probably sell the interface seperately as well.....
Still waiting on parts, will update the thread as I get more information..
Also looking at clear trackball mods with rgb led lighting.

Theoretically a harness
The wiring instructions for the Mini-Pac are on Ultimarc's website (http://www.ultimarc.com/mp_inst.html). There is additional information about the trackball's wires HERE (http://www.ultimarc.com/optipac3.html).
All you have to do is match em up.....

I bought one of these and I am very pleased. It looks brand new.
I am new to the arcade building hobby and he was sure to make sure I knew what I was buying and that I needed another piece to make it work. I appreciated that he was clear on what I was getting and helpful in pointing out some different interface options.
I would definitely buy something from him again.

Just wanted to weigh in, I bought a trackball off Rablack about a month ago. Finally finished my CP and I love the trackball. Works great, I'm glad I bought one off him. Fair price, quick shipping, with quick and politie responses to my Noob questions :)

is this one of those?

All of what I have are the red boards, so they will work with your setup.

I can vouch for rablack's red boards. I swapped some green ones out for red ones he sold me, and everything worked just fine.

Just want to say a big thank you. I just received my trackball today and it looks super clean and is in excellent condition.
I really appreciate the included wiring harness. It will make the connection to the mini PAC so much easier.

my two trackballs arrived today. very well packaged, look clean and the ball motion is really smooth.
can't test them for a couple weeks probably but I assume they will work fine.

They look identical.....
Visually you can't tell them apart..I have an OEM in my rig.
The OEM is slightly heavier and is suppose to be less scratch resistant, although i do have scratches on mine.
So it's a preference, if you want cool eye candy, and not too picky, go with the generic. They both play the same.

I received my trackball yesterday. Shipping was damn fast. Trackball looks like a brand new unit. Packaged very well. He even included a harness that plugs in with leads to connect to an encoder!

Any idea how much the PS/2 and USB adapter would cost? I think I can buy an opti-wiz for $15-20. Still, in my book, $60 for a used trackball is way better than $80 for a new trackball.

Looking at the $12-15 range, also keep in mind this is in no way intended to compete with Randy and Andy's more superior interfaces.
These are just simple interfaces that are plug and play so you dont have to butcher a mouse. They are for trackballs only that dont have all the bells and whistles (z-axis, dual t-ball/spinner interface.
I got a working protype, with a few bugs i need to fish out, I will post some preliminary photos of v1. tonight.
These were built to simplify getting a raw trackball up and running.....
I'll be offering these seperately, but mainly with the refurbs i sell, to give my customers more flexibility on their installs.

I actually had it backwards the generic is a tad bit heavier but in testing rolled about the same....

Had a really great experience with rablack for my trackball solution. He ended up misquoting the final total, honored what he did quote, and got it shipped out quickly. The packaging he used was solid, and the track ball rolls smooth as sin.
Will highly recommend to anyone looking for one.
