Title: Difference between Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT and JLW-TM-9??
Post by: AE35 on August 17, 2006, 02:36:48 am

Hi all!

I have the JLW-TM-9's in a cabinet, and are pretty happy with them.

Then I see these(at the top, the ones I have now at the bottom)

http://www.gremlinsolutions.co.uk/sanwaparts.htm

It seems that the 8YT's have some sort of PCB under them?? and a cable?

Can anyone tell me the main difference?

Thanks again!

Nicholas

JLF microswitches they are better (Omron)
mode 4 way it acts bad
parameters are identical (differences can be the mistakes of measurement)
you can buy JLF from octangonal restrictor (this is excellent 4 fighters, platform, shooter-walking)

if you use square restrictor. then change JLW/JLF has not sense (you lose mode 4 way only).

Thanks!

It will be used in 4-way mode....doesn't it have a restrictor plate I can turn,
like the JLW-TM-9's, making it 4-way?

Can you tell me if the throw is shorter on the JLF-TP-8YT's?

Is the stick the same length?

If you have version JLW EU/USA (69mm stick) all is similar. Throw version japanese JLW  (62mm) is shorter similarly how Seimitsu LS32

mode changes unbuttoning restrictor. this is uncomfortable very.

Sorry, can you tell me why it's uncomfortable?

So, if I wanted a better 4-way than the Sanwa JLW-TM-9's, what would I use?
I have the IDEA(!) that I would like a little bit shorter throw! Lady Bug is a big
player on the machine, so is Burger Time etc.

Thanks so far, kowal!!

see on photo this can not be altered quickly.
if you want to have the short throw (on 4-way mode) bay the mag-stick or
seimitsu 32
(http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/4493/image3417yg8.gif)
seimitsu LS40
(http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/9416/image3488yh9.gif)
restrictors on Seimitsu they are poor (they can destroy)
MAg - stick is more solid from seimitsu

on JLF diagonals in mode 4way are hit still!

I don't need it to be changed quickly. I like fixed things ;) It will stay in 4-way.

Ohh...the Mag-stick I don't like!!

For JLW you can buy circle restrictors, for JLF octagonal restrictors. Sanwa spring (JLW) is a bit harder than Seimitsu LS-32. Diagonals on circle restrictor in JLW aren't easy to hit, I think are identical as in not moded P360 joystick.

PS. P360 still the best for shooters ;)

JLF sticks will also work as a 4-way if left in 8-way mode on the base of the stick itself. You'd need to add something like an Oscar restrictor plate to the top of your panel.
