Post by: Malenko on May 25, 2008, 08:44:34 pm

I'll post some in progress pix later on. So far I have primed the inside, cleaned up the wiring, swapped the CPO, and sanded and painted the metal MVS cover and applied an MVS logo (like in my 4 slot) I also put in an order to eccs19 for a new set of side art.

Im going to track the cost of the restore too :)  stay tuned!

Wow.  Super Street Fighter 2 in a Neo-Geo cabinet.  That's like having a Red Sox player throw out the first pitch at a Yankees game!

I really like what you did on your first one, and this one.  Putting those extra MVS stickers on the cover of the game board.  It's like it belongs.

it'll look tons better once I get another set of side art from you. The 4 slot cab looks so perfect thanks to you. Ive got the one side stripped and the bondo is curing as we speak, 2 coats of primer will be on by noon and at least 1 coat of "Blaze Of Glory" Red before the nights over. tomorrow I'll strip the other side after work and bondo it, but when you dont have off work, work on the cab slows

yep look awesome sauce, the triangles were perfect. Unfortunately "Blaze of Glory Red" doesnt dry A) fast enough and  B) the right color   so its getting scraped this weekend. Gonna re prime then spray it with H20 Red, the same paint I used on the mobos

Why did you paint it white inside the cabinet? :hissy:

easy answer, its not paint. its a latex based primer. it kills the smell of cigarettes and anything else that the cabinet has been exposed to. once the back is on you cant see inside anyway. I sealed all my cabs (well except my MKII, cause it didnt smell at all) makes a huge difference.

this cab should have the sides repainted by monday. I already have the side art, but I need to re-order the T molding, I got the wrong size, whoops.

a month later......

one side is painted but I think its gonna get redone. instead of a regular restore I think I might go with a custom blue instead

Uh-oh...going blue means you'll have to move this thread over to Project Announcements where all the custom stuff is.  ;D  ;)

Did you make those stickers for the board cover yourself?  I'd love to get some for mine, makes it look awesome.
