Hey Mr Calamity, dont give up, we need people like you, profecional coders that take time to work on this kind of projects. We love groovymame and we love using it on real crt hardware, nothing beats that, not even modern hardware that emulates scanlines or pixels, groovymame and crt are the cream , so please dont give up man.
Hey people, what if we made a found to show our apreciation to mr Calamity, maybe he can gives us a paypal adress and maybe we can pay him a nice vacation or something, ill put 15dlls, i know it aint much, but we are many users of the groovymame switchres software not to mention emudrivers, so lets show our apreciation to keep this alive... what do you say?

He's not giving up, don't worry ;) just real life priorities that come before pixels and crt tubes !

still it would be nice if we can come up together with somethig nice for him.
Ill set up an example, when you do work for your relatives and friends, and you do it for free, at first is ok, but if those relatives or friends never show any apreciation to you, it starts felling like if you are doing the correct thing for them, but if those relatives start showing theyr apreciation to you out of themselfs, then it feels its worth your time. Im not sure if calamity is a profesional coder, but he does a tremendous work by coding groovymame/switchres and we dont know but he may be up to something that maybe he can surely use some of our apreciation to whatever he want to use it thought.
You know what, ill give 20, once he mentions where, illsend them first thing in the morning.
Common american and european people, if i live in a shithole country and can do 20, i bet you guys can also do something, most of us spend more money on beers or snaks.

I agree that Calamity is under-appreciated by the community that he supports. I have felt this for a long time.
[...]
Anyway, yes, a Paypal DONATE button seems reasonable idea (and a much easier way for most people to show their appreciation and earn some karma credit).

I think he had something to "sponsor" him. He'll reply when he has time.

That post is 7 years old, I'd verify the paypal/email before throwing money into the abyss. I'd gladly donate

Hi guys,
I appreciate this initiative although in all honesty it's not necessary. I just do this to have fun and keep myself young. Hopefully in a few days I can release the updated GM. You can follow the progress on github, "newswitchres" branch.
Yeah the paypal link on Eiusdemmodi is still valid, of course. Why should it be dead? Seven years is nothing in the CRT software industry.
Cheers,
Calamity

@abispac: does the donation link work for you, and are you now enjoying that warm, fuzzy feeling?

Better safe than sorry. I actually have changed mine, and I had my previous address for like 20 years.

I have been using GroovyArcade for a few years now on a beautiful old woody CRT Arcade cab, and a few CRT TVs too. Has been a revelation!
I think I donated before but have just donated 'again'.
Great Work Calamity. Thank you so much!
:applaud: :notworthy:

Just sent some cash too. Figured with how much I get out of Calamity's hard work (and ridiculous patience...) it's only right to support in whatever way possible. I've been meaning to for a while too, just didn't try hard enough to find a donate button.
