Title: Coins / Tokens vs a button
Post by: Sshado on December 11, 2014, 11:21:19 am
I am planning on putting a coin door in a scratch built arcade, but I am deciding if it needs to be a working one or not. Do people actually utilize coins / tokens in a MAME machine or do most people just use a button for coins? What is preferred?

Preference is up to the builder/machine owner.

Me personally, it's tokens/coins or GTFO.

My $0.25 - If you are gonna set up a whole basement home arcade, have everything on tokens or quarters. Maybe even get a token dispenser of some sort. Huge contributor to ambiance. If you are gonna have one machine only, just go with a button.

I have a whole mess of games and a quarter dispenser. It definitely is a part of the ambience.
