Hey all!
Long time no post.
I'm building my 4th cab (and final, yah right) and I'm running into a wall. I want to buy the porous metal material used to put in front of speakers. Usually car speakers I suppose. Check this product: https://www.amazon.ca/MagiDeal-Speaker-Grills-Screws-Mounting/dp/B07CBQ38NX/ref=sr_1_52?dchild=1&keywords=Subwoofer+Metal+Black+Waffle+Grill+Cover&qid=1617970052&sr=8-52 (https://www.amazon.ca/MagiDeal-Speaker-Grills-Screws-Mounting/dp/B07CBQ38NX/ref=sr_1_52?dchild=1&keywords=Subwoofer+Metal+Black+Waffle+Grill+Cover&qid=1617970052&sr=8-52)
I need around 8x6in X2 and I can't seem to find anything that isn't pre-made and super expensive. Any ideas for a frugal builder?
Thanks!

How about this? There are some variants on ebay, but this looks to be slightly larger than 8x6, and while shipping might take a few weeks, the price looks right. Looks like it comes in a 2-pack.

This stuff seems to be pretty expensive in general. Here's a thread where I explored some options.

Mine was for vents you wouldn't really see, so you will probably want to stick with the aluminum grill type material on the front. If you have a nice drill press and a lot of patience you could probably make your own for less. You could also look at thrift shops for old speakers and possibly get some material that way.

Thanks guys!
