Title: VMs
Post by: ark_ader on January 28, 2019, 07:24:31 pm
So long story short, I got hacked via some middleware I installed (I do try a lot of collaboration software) and got the happy email that they figured out some old password I used, but it got me thinking about isolating the systems I use externally (before the final firewall) and how to add a bit more security via VM.

Has anyone used any graphical front-ends like kodi behind a VM like Hyper-V or Vmware without any drop in performance?  I have a beefy PC that runs a bunch of servers internally and they work fine, but I'm ditching the retropies and using a few PC emulators for the games I own.  I know the question has been asked before, but that was with previous iterations of VMs.  They new versions have better resource management, and I am curious before pulling the trigger, if it better to go this route?
