Hello arcademaniacs.I am trying to finish my arcade bartop cabinet.Its a weecade clone.I have not decided about the artworks theme (i dont want to use weecades artwork) I am trying to make something diff but i think i have the imagination but not the skills using adobe illustrator. So i give you the artwork i made(which i dont like much cause i think something is "missing") and tell me some changes to give it a "special look".

why are the joysticks on the right side?

In greece we are used to play the joys with the right hand and when we were about to play with a joy at the left side we cross our hands

I would move the Exit button to the front next to the Pause button. You don't want to accidentally hit it in a heated Street Fighter match!

nice idea about the exit button but the cp is already created. :( ...i cant change the button setup..
What about the colours ....do you like them?Any suggestions?

Just swap the artwork round, put the pause up top and exit at bottom so if you do hit it it will pause, not exit!

I see i am not the only one from greece around here....kalhmera file mou (good day)
I use the maximus arcade frontend and the exit button sould be pushed for 3 sec to exit....so there is no problem with the exit button. I need help about the artwork and the colours. The cabinet body will be black. What you think about the colours are they good???

Personally I like the colours! But it really depends on what colours you like!

You asked about the theme i would like to have. I dont want to give something that it will make it hard for you so i will tell you 3 themes that i like and please make the one easiest to you. I like 1st)XMEN 2) Street fighter 3)bubble bobble .... its totaly your choice if you have the time and the moud to give it a try.

Well, I personally love bubble bobble and always wanted a bubble bobble arcade! Plus there is a ton of artwork I can play with and I can do a colour scheme that is similar to what you want if I can change the colours around a bit? It is also a CLASSIC! So I might go that road if you are happy with that?

Well, I had a mess around and came up with something. The name is different but I thought "bubble bobble" and "it's a bartop" so why not Bub and Bob's bartop!
I thought I would show this first before I do anything else!
What do you think?

I think the word BARTOP which is very nice and classic but i think it sould be more visible.
What about trying changing the background colour to a dark like the games first screen and the bubbles colour from blue to original green? I think it will look more classic....or maybe not :( once again great idea mate :applaud:

I put both colours in to compare really but then I thought why not put either side (green from bub, blue from bob).

I love the two coloured sides!!!! And now the BARTOP is visible and very nice looking.
I cant wait to see what you can figure out about the control panel.

p.s At the second version Bub has the original colour. At the first marquee you uploaded bub had a dark green.The second version is much better. What about giving it a TAITO logo to look more original?What you say?

yeah, I changed bobs colour to match the original colour he is in the game and also to match the bubbles. To add the taito symbol is no prob! Where would you like it?
I have always liked to p1 vs p2 themes, that's what gave me some inspiration.
I'm out for lunch at the mo, but will add as soon as I'm home. You have to love the iPhone!

One nice position about the taito symbol it might be at the down-right of the "BARTOP" somthing like this

One more thing i noticed is the colour of the hands and feets of our favorite heroes. I think the colour is not close to the original.Also i think Bob is a little bit blue-r ....we dont want our heroe to be unhappy 8) with his colour. Here is a sample i found but i dont know if this is the original colours of bub and bob.What you think?

Here are some more examples.
I matched the colour to the original flyer exactly, and matched the background too.
I even matched the text to the feet as there is no purple anymore, however I left the purple also. Again this can be changed easily if you want a different colour!
What do you think?

I am trying to select a marquee but its to hard!!!!I like all of them but i am between second and the last(more original) What yo say?? The cabinets body will be black!Which marquee do you beleve fits better to a black cabinet?Or make a sugestion about the cabinet colour...i havent paint it yet.
EDIT. I believe a red cabinet with the last marquee would be pretty...what you say?

I like the whole fade from green to blue thing.
I might try one more tonight and see what happens as I like the lighter background but prefer the darker heroes.
As for the cab colour, I have seen red laminate and to be honest, I wasn't that impressed.
Maybe you could do a mix of green and blue to match the fade? Or even do half green, half blue!

All the marquees you made are very nice....i am confused....after a lot of thought i like the 2nd and 4th. Cant wait for your next colour selection and at the end how u will match it with the cp. Always thank you for your time.
