Title: Could someone please identify this cabinet?
Post by: zowiebowie on August 05, 2003, 05:45:36 am
Hi,

I saw a style of cab I kinda like on eBay, OK its a bit ugly  ::) but also reminds me very much of the sort of cabs I used to use as a young'un! Proper boxy 70s syle! So I would like to find one similar.

I wondered if anyone knows who the specific manufacturer cabs like these are/were. I guess it's a generic one?
Initially I thought it was a subelectro cab but they don't seem to be much like these, this one is a bit bigger by the looks of it, too.

The seller didn't know who made it either; presumably the manufacturers markings were removed or never put their in the first place.

Or, if you know of any cabs with similar dimensions I would be interested to hear about them!  :)

Being in the UK, and being a Space Invaders clone it is most likely a generic cabinet. Most of the true "Dedicated" cabinets were  US only. In Europe there might be a half a dozen different cabinets for the same game from different distributors/assemblers. Read the bit on Andy's website about several Moon Patrols being assembled in his garage.
