Title: Heads up part 2: Target is having a sale on Amiibo
Post by: Howard_Casto on August 29, 2017, 01:16:42 am
So who wants useless hunks of plastic?  I know I do.  Sonic, Pac-man, Toad and several others are half off or more.  Just search for amiibo and sort by price.

I picked up Sonic and Pac-man sicne they are non-Nintendo figures (which might mean limited production) and I have a serious problem.  Don't ever buy these things.  They are like crack or something.

I just make my own with NFC tags and TagMo , they take up significantly less room.

I'm kind of over the in-game functionality.  I just like the little statues.  At 12-15 bucks they are outrageous, but when they get marked down to 6 bucks or less you'll have a hard time finding a quality representation of the characters for less.  "World of Nintendo" 2.5 inch figures are also on my radar now.  They are pretty much amiibo except they start at $4.50 and have a slightly crappier paint job.  ss

Im over having video game trinkets, so I prefer the functionality (I only have a new3DSXL and my wife has a pink 3DS)
I've been doing well to not buy a few of the neat ones (Pacman, Ryu, and Link) and an even better job of giving/selling the stuff I do have.

My kids use these so maybe i'll stop in and take a look.
It does get annoying when they slow down mario party to futz with amiibo's.
but, they are 9 & 11 and still think it's cool to hang out with dad so I don't mind too much.

What Tutorial did you use? I got some NFC chips delivered, It sounds pretty standard.
Did you use your phones NFC to do the transfers?

not much of a tutorial, install TagMo on a droid phone that has NFC , download the require files presto free physical DLC :p

I made some tags for Opt2Not as a thank you for helping me with some art stuff.
