I'm trying to find a monitor that works well for both horizontal and vertical games. Meaning closest to square.
My cabinet gives me 22.25" wide (56.5 cm) by about 22" high, though I might be able to extend the height by going up behind the bezel.
I know it's a long shot, but does anyone happen to know of a 4:3 (or square) monitor that would approximately fit these dimensions, so my vertically orientated games aren't so squished?

For a 4:3 LCD a 20" Dell like 2007FP or 2001fp will fit. NEC and a few others made a 21.3" LCD that would fit as well. I think that's the biggest you can find for 4:3 LCDs.
For a CRT you may be able to find a 4:3 in a 24" diagonal - I have a Sanyo 24" 4:3 CRT TV in my basement that would be about 22" wide de-cased. For reference, a 25" K7000 Wells Gardner arcade monitor is about 23" wide. https://www.agegaming.com/technical/pdf/Spec/K7000.pdf (https://www.agegaming.com/technical/pdf/Spec/K7000.pdf)
