Hi all, I have a simple question (but not for a pin noob like me).
I'm planning to build a custom made cabinet with the "classic" 3 monitors setup (46 - 32 - 17).
ATM I have this PC:
i5-3470T @ 2.90-3.60GHz (2 cores - 4 threads) http://ark.intel.com (http://ark.intel.com)...-up-to-3_60-ghz
Ati Radeon 6670 1GB - (for 46" playfield and 32" backglass)
Intel integrated graphics card (that I'm planning to use for the 17" -> DMD)
On the Mb there's only one PCI-ex slot, so I can't do sli.
I've read that Ati cards are not so good with VP, so I'm asking you these questions:
1 - Is the above CFG good enough to smoothly run VP with 3 monitors?
2 - Is better change Ati with an nVidia card (also with new VP version)? Which one?
3 - Is better to use Win7 or XP? I've read many users that say that VP runs faster on XP.
Any help is very very very very appreciated!! Thanks!
PS: sorry for my eng

I don't have an answer for you as I have never built one, but you might get better help elsewhere. Some people around here get pretty stupid when people mention anything but a "real" pinball machine.
Try here

Even though the forum section is about building cabinets, people bring up their computer hardware questions a lot too.
Good luck.

1 - Some tables might freak out a bit
2 - Nvidia does have better fps in VP
3 - Depends on the pc/person I think
Note that VP is currently being moved from DX7 to DX9 which is providing huge performance increases on alot of tables. I'd try the newer beta tests with yer hardware before any other purchases.

This sounds great, but can current tables run on the dx9 VP beta versions? Or we need new tables?

Same tables.....but some will require some tweaking.
