Title: Intel D945GCLF2 Question
Post by: smartbomb2084 on December 20, 2013, 10:08:31 am
If I get one of these boards new... put in some RAM and put it into an ION EVO... Will it work straight out of the box or does it need to be pre configured some how?

I would assume you would have to at least change the CMOS Power Management setting?

Thanks....

I think it has to be a 2009 or newer.

These intel boards have been a life saver on these ION games.  No more recapping those p.o.s. ecs boards only to have them die again.  As my IONs and Auroras come in the shop the first thing we do is take out the ecs and asus boards and put these boards in.

Now can anyone tell me a better and cheaper board to put in my Big Buck Hunter Pro games?

Actually, they added support for "intel little falls" motherboard in the 2009.5 update. So you are correct in the sense you need a 2009 ion key, but you also need the 2009.5 update.

ASRock N68C-GS FX  Using an AM2 processor and 512MB DDR2 memory. http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=71223 (http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=71223)

MSI K9N6PGM2-V2 AM2+ if you can find them work great.

you must use the most recent version of software.
