Mr.Ian:
Thanks guys for all of the above, will keep you posted on how it all turns out

Sorry for the delay, have just spent the last week on the gold coast

My cab has a steel control panel. I ended up taking it to a local fab shop to get the hole for the trackball cut. I'm lucky because I live in backwoods Wisconsin, and the small town I live in had a 70 year old guy there who was better with his century old metal tools than any laser cutter is today. Once I explained what I needed, he went to work while I watched. He had a perfect hole cut for me in 10 minutes flat. And when I say perfect, I mean PERFECT. When I got home, I almost couldn't install the trackball, the fit was so tight. Turns out I was inserting it at a 10 degree angle. That was enough for it not to go in. Started over from flat and she slid in the hole and pretty much 'snapped' into place. I couldn't have been happier.

Guy charged me $10 :D

Get thee to a small metal shop, if you can find one.

p.s. If I'm not mistaken the X-arcade trackballs are modeled after the Betson Imperial hardware. They are good units -- my previous cab had one.

I was told the same also (was thinking of upgrading to a lighted trackball @ the time). I have the Tankstick and at first there was a break-in period...Found out that my 3 year old was breaking it in for me while I was at work...Now it is totally flawless...
good luck with your build!
