ArcadeVGA and Jpac not powering on the monitor . .

Like some kind of wire hack?

What if I was to power on the monitor with the PS, AND turn on the PC which would power the Jpac . . if the monitor were going to work, would it work in that case, at least for testing purposes?

CheffoJeffo:

Not really -- more like plugging a couple of cords into a plug extender.

Another thing to be pointed out -- the only power that the JPac gets is from the USB port. Nothing else.

The next step is to figure out what was disconnected and now needs to be reconnected.  We proceed at this point assuming that my previous assumptions have all been correct.

There was a power cord that plugged into the wall and ran into the cabinet. Do you have pictures of where that ran (typically, it would run to a switch on the back or top of the cabinet) ? What did you do with it ?

EDIT: having another look at the pictures, I'll bet that the power cord ran straight into the Peter Chou supply (missed that before -- it does make the wiring look different than a normal arcade PS) and that there is a switch on the PS that was exposed on the back of the cabinet. From there, I bet that there was a molex connector that ran 115V from the PS (a direct passthrough) to both the marquee lighting and the isolation transformer. Can you grab a picture of that connection (assuming that I am correct) ? We'll then figure out the cleanest way to get you 115V AC to those places.

Guywiththegun:

Yeah, the power cord went directly into the power supply, exactly like a computer power supply, with molex connectors coming out of the PS and plugging into other molex connectors. I was actually surprised how much it worked like the inside of a PC. I'll take pics of those connections.

Guywiththegun:

Ok, the power supply connected to this molex connecter (took the pic from the front for a better view):

That would connect to all the wiring that would be fed to the JAMMA harness.

Here's some more pics of the wiring:
