When I was in Vegas a few years ago, I expected strip clubs and hookers galore on the strip. Not the case! The closest we came to hookers or strip clubs was the baseball card sized 'escort' services advertisments being handed out by the mexicans. Sure, you could go into several shops on the strip and buy a Hustler or Penthouse magazine, but no strip clubs or hookers.

Also, I did like the fact that you could walk the strip with an alcoholic beverage without getting an open container or public drunken disorderly ticket or fine. I investigated why and its because all the hotels and shops own the sidewalks in front of their businesses and they arnt considered 'public walkways' and the business association sees it as a good thing that people are able to consume adult beverages because of the 90% possibility that since your 'buzzed' or drunk you are going to spend money in their establishments.

The TV shows like CSI and the likes embelish Vegas a little. But I did learn that the Strip isnt in Vegas proper, but in Clark county and Clark county doesnt allow strip clubs.

One idea, rent a Ferrari, Lamborguini or Bentley for the day! When I was out there, a HUMMER (prior to mass production) was considered a high end luxury vehicle that was renting for $100.00 for a 12 hour period. Drive it out to Hoover Dam or the Grand Canyon. You'd definately turn some heads and make the chicks take a second look!

Wow, it was drinks-o-plenty when i was there. Foster's was giving away their beer in front of Harrah's, all you had to do was pay the tax for it! I thinks it was like $.16 or something, but the attendants sure had a full tip jar! People were crawling the streets from the MGM all the way down to Circus Circus ut to about 2am.

If there is a big convention in town that takes up 3-4 hotels, then the strip will be full of people!

But that was my experience!

PBJ the flat surface observation is interesting, good work. On the other hand dude I want to know what you had for dinner this week so far that is superior to the Venetian or Bellagio buffet? http://www.flickr.com/photos/20624555@N00/2617371804/#sizes/l/

Fordman I saw this: http://www.dreamcarrentals.com/rates.php Pretty sweet but the F360 is $1,100 a day + $2.00 per mile after the first 100 miles.

Whoa!

Just a tad bit steep with the price! I didnt bother checking the price while I was there but I saw plenty of Ferarri's up and down the strip!

Shoot, I dont think my whole trip to Vegas cost me more than $750.00 (hotel, round trip air fair, shuttle to and from airport and free tix to the buffets!)

Speaking of the buffets, I didnt really care for any of them. Sure they were big and open until 2:30am but the food was, so so! The food tasted like is was from an elementary cafeteria but you could drink as much beer of wine as you wanted! The usual price for the buffet was $24.99 for the food or $39.00 for the food and alcohol buffet. I was in town for a Union convention and the hotels gave us as many free food and drink buffet tickets as we could handle!  ;)
