Ok so i got the nudging to work with the mercury switches.
it's really hard to get it going , adjusting is not easy with those things

i now have them mounted the same way facing but one higher adjusted
it works but if anyone has more tips for me please go ahead.

also some vp tables seem to react faster and tilt out fast any way to adjust or where to look into the script?

Well more cute things will be added:

I got my Led-Wiz and two clear topper lights for the cabinet in the house. !

Thanks to chrizz99 and manowar we are soon getting kick ass light control software to use with our pin-cabs.

Kudos to them , but i wanted to update my own build thread here this week with installation pictures etc.

Hi. Im thinking of building one of these and hope to make as "life like" as possible. With real pinball machines there is a sort of proper resistance (a heaviness if you will) when you press the flipper buttons. Is this something that can be replicated as im guessing on most builds just standard "arcade" happ buttons are used which in my opinion wouldnt feel right?

I love the look and really contemplating making one of these if i can make it as "real life" as possible!

Well if you look into chrizz99's topic of his pinball , he installed siemens relais which simulate flipper force feedback.
He also has a youtube video up.

Check it out ! you will be building one very soon

Mine cost me about $1400 (3 screens), but i got the 45" playfied for $30, so mine does not count.

i would say it would be in the $2500-3500 range depending on what you do.

Little update:
I ordered 2x rgb led drives for the top flashers, they will not be as bright as the cree lights because they where designed for push button illum. but they will do because i am really close up them.

Also ordered 2x electric ice buttons with rgb drives and leaf switches for my cabinet.

thanks to chris77 for all his patience with my 100 questions

Hi,

So i installed one top flasher with an RGB drive from GGG.
It's not as bright as those high power leds that chris77 uses, but for my mini pin they will do.

Here is a simple reaaaly simple wiring diag for one rgb led and the ledwiz:

the rbg drive from ggg comes equiped with a 4wire cable attached to the driver itself:

split the wires carefully

run the 3 grey wires to 3 different ports on the wiz
run the grey/red wire to the 5v output

for more led 5v power use a terminal strip and piggy bank the connections

I love the mini-pin idea, especially since my Wife has a 19" 4:3 LCD monitor that's gathering dust, and I can pick up a nice 24" LCD for under $200.  I think my skills with MDF should be adequate to build a couple of boxes (hopefully) and I'll definitely be referencing your build when I do mine!

Installed Leaf switches for the flipper button left one works perfect , the right one sometime fails to respond.

How can i adjust these easily?

Being a big fan of VP and Pinmame I have a couple questions for you:

1) How did you get the split screens to work
2) What are you using to get the menu to select the tables you want to play?

Thanx,

OK.  So after several edits I think I understand that last question.   :-[  (It's just been one of those days).  When I was playing with hyperpin the left and right flippers scrolled through the tables and the plunger selected them.

I love these mini pin builds!  Gratz man.... that looks great!

I didn't even know you could get anything like mercury switches. So does the nudge feature work OK now? I would think that maybe when you nudge left or right won't both of the mercury switches activate? Are they just wired into standard button positions on the Ipac? I think you can have a nudge front/up button too yes?

Being a big fan of VP and Pinmame I have a couple questions for you:

1) How did you get the split screens to work
2) What are you using to get the menu to select the tables you want to play?

Thanx,
Geo

Read this build thread from mwong, it explains the setup of FS tables.

http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=102628.0

Yes the menu switching works with the flipper buttons you can configure it through the settings file

For the split screen: those are FS tables meaning the table will be on your main monitor and the backbox wil be loaded with UVP if you choose it,  on the second screen.

The mercury switches are wired to the IPAC so it's just a button press.
But to be honest it's really hard to get them to work right... you get double nudges all the time.

So when i finish the led project i am going to look into the UHID-G from ultimarc should be better i hope.

That's what I'm seeing from using the mercury switches, too.

With a minipin, I'd imagine it being even worse because of the pin's smaller size...

I'm kinda wishing I just gone with the UHID-G in the first place<sigh>

Wow!  Thanx for the info.  This is really cool!  I never knew you could split Visual Pinball across several monitors like that.

So the big question I have for you now is this:

How does it compare to playing a real pinball machine?

Nevertheless, the concept is great especially for those short on space...here you can play several machines in one cabinet much like with Mame and video games.

Thanx,

Geo

It's not the same as a real machine, but with the upcoming led-wiz project we are one step closer. but i play it everyday, and it's a lot cheaper then buying a real machine if you are into mame you will like this also :)
