Wall Mount Jukebox PICTURES
deano7:
I have an old puter that I just developed aspirations to make it into a wall-mount jukebox. I plan on using etouch and setting the system up this week. Now I just need to develop plans for the jukebox that takes into account things like fan location, mounting of the touchscreen, etc. So here are a few questions I have...
1. What is the most economical/best 19" touchscreen.
2. Does anyone have any pictures of their wall mount juke that i can see in order to develop my juke?
3. Any advice or things to be aware of when I set out on this journey?
Thanks guys and happy holidays!!!

I'll keep an eye on this thread, I myself down the road have a desire to build a jukebox.
I've seen the touchscreen overlays on deal extreme but the biggest they get is 13" I'm sure someone out there makes an overlay for a 19" monitor.
Good luck!

Do you plan on doing an in-wall or on-wall? If it is in wall be careful about screen size to make sure it will fit between the stud openings in the wall.

Thanks for the warning! I am actually looking to do an on the wall unit. I want it to be mobile - fun at parties. I'd also like to integrate a webcam and allow for a photobooth function. Anyone know of any good photobooth software for PC's?

Take a trip on over to the DOS/Wincab thread. Dos & Wincab were old names for DWjukebox. This is probably one of the best non-commercial coin-op style jukeboxes out there for a computer. It features customizable skins and it is meant to work with existing Mame cabinets. You don't need a Mame cabinet though, you can use it stand-alone. It works in most formats except for the Mac. It runs natively in Dos, Windows98 and Windows XP (Dos & XP support the touch screen). However, I managed to get it working in Linux via Wine, but you do need POWER to go this route. But any modern multi-core machine will do fine. If your machine is power shy (or old...like say a Pentium III) then you are best off running DW Jukebox via DOS or Windows98.
Up to now I have run the program in all the formats mentioned except DOS. However, I do have a DOS candidate machine that is ready to go. It is just that I have too many projects on my plate right now, but I will look into it more after the holidays.
