I know you probably get a lot of requests for software recommendations, but I'm pretty specific about what I want and would appreciate some direction.
I already have a touchscreen jukebox that I built a few years ago.
After trying 5 or 6 programs, I settled on The PC Jukebox because it seemed closest to what you find in bars and would be easy for my guests to figure out.
It's worked great since I built it, but after adding the last batch of albums, it became bogged down and slow, like I passed some sort of limit.
I went from 22,000 songs to 25,000 songs, which isn't a big leap, but the change in performance is drastic.
(been building my collection for a long time, all full albums from the original cd, no crap off the internet until Amazon mp3 came along)
The computer is running a 2.0Ghz single core AMD Sempron w/1GB RAM.
I Installed The PC Jukebox on my dual core laptop to see if it performed better, and it did not.
Is there any touchscreen jukebox software out there that is quicker to scroll album covers and doesn't look like mp3 managment software.
I can't stand the "jukebox" software that looks like itunes or media monkey.
What I like about The PC Jukebox is that it looks like a real touchscreen jukebox and allows me to choose what buttons I want guests to have access to.
Anything out there similar, but better performing?
(I tried touchtraxx, but don't care for it)
