Had a good few hours today working on putting it together and wiring, will save the completed pictures for another day  ;)

Been a lot of fun but also frustrating working in such a small space inside the bartop, trying to fit all the wiring in and make sure it doesn't foul the fans or get pinched when it's together.

Still need to work on the config for the controls as sometimes it skips letters on it's own or it doesn't always switch to pinball or back again, am sure i'll get it sorted  ;D

YES it is fully together and playable as i lost an hour just picking random games and testing them out, tempest is surprisingly easy with a joystick  >:D

TTFN  :)

Sorted (mostly) the software side of things as it now boots straight to coinops (used the guide on here) have left the pointer visible, only shows for a few seconds, just in case i need to alter anything.

Just need a PVC/plastic L trim (out of stock at the moment) for the top and it's done, the back is a very snug fit, as once it's unscrewed you have to gentle tug at the fan grill to prise it open  :o, have used a wireless mini keyboard so shouldn't need to open it up anyways.

The side button led doesn't seem that bright in person, warning stickers i printed myself along with the side sticker, knocked it together in about 10 mins then printed on matt vinyl i had laying around, kinda reminds me of a power up in many games  ;)

It's still a bit quirky in the coinops menu, need some more research when i can be bothered  >:D

Only EXTRA costs are the wood grain vinyl and L trim (once back in stock) so call it £8.80 for a finished machine  ;)

Well that's it i guess for this build...................until the next  :)

Thanks, just don't look too closely as there are many imperfections  ;)

So you have the marquee dynamically changing with the game?  That's a nice touch.
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

The marquees are all to do with the layouts in MAME via coinops

Yes each game as its own marquee, the files are stored in artwork.

Hey Guys n Gals,

Managed to get a slight upgrade for the thin client, picked one up for only £35 Delivered, just like the one in this link  -

https://www.parkytowers.me.uk/thin/wyse/5060/

Should be able to wire the power switch like i did before BUT can't see an easy 12v source for the fans, there are tiny solder points for a connector that i used on the original thin client, not sure if i can solder that small tho and would they be live anyway without the connector ??? or i could use a sata extender cable and tap into the 12v/ground wires or would that cause too much trouble for the SSD, thoughts ?

if i can get it work then the plan is swap them over then stick maybe retroarch on the older one and give it away to a nephew for Christmas :)

That's pretty cool. I was thinking of doing something similar in the next few months so enjoyed reading this.

This came out great.  Got a video or something walking through how it all works?

Is there a CoinOps download without all the games just with the vertical layout? Just like a normal front end - I can only seem to find large downloads.  I like the idea of using a monitor in portrait mode with dynamic marquees but only need 80 or so games and not everything under the sun. Seems like it would be easier to add my own games and marquees instead of downloading a huge file and try to strip it back...

That's because you don't currently have that option enabled.

Go to the "Personal Messaging" menu in your profile . . .
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?action=profile;area=pmprefs;u=34132

. . . and check the "Save a copy of each personal message in my sent items by default" box.

Couldn't get a 12v source, even from the SATA port when i used an adapter like in the first post, almost all 2.5" HDD's and all SSD's seem to just use 5v from what google says, so i'll keep "shumpin" as it is and a nephew can get a better retro gaming mini pc :)
