In an exclusive agreement with Gene Morris, Arcade Renovations could be
carrying
Blue Tron Joystick handles. These handles will be an exact replicas of the
originals and
will include the brass inserts and the decal inserts (these will actually be
silk screen plexi
pieces). In addition, we are looking to get the red Satan's Hollow and Gorf
handles as well.
If we decide to get those done, the brass inserts and the decal inserts will
also be included.

Last week, I cancelled the midway coindoor production as only a handful of
people showed
interest. This project is similar - I need your pre-orders with a $5.00
deposit for each handle
before then end of next week before I actually get the project started. A
minimum of 50 total
pre-orders will be required. If the number is reached by next Friday,
production will start immediately.
If not, all moneys will be refunded and the project will be thrown out.

According to Gene, the handles will be ready within 30 to 45 days from the
start of production.

If this is something that you want to see, you will need to send a check or
money order to us or you may
also use paypal (sales@arcaderenovations.com) for $5.00- Price for each
handle will vary from $60 to $75 depending
on the number of pre-orders - If the response is really good, they will be
$60 but plan on spending $75 tops.
There will be substantial volume discounts starting at 2 joysticks. If you
have any questions, please email me at
pbourdon@portone.com - Thanks,

Philippe

Severen:
This is great news!  The price would actually be much cheaper than the black 'tron' joystick available on the Happ website.  Not to mention the added 10,000 cool points for having the actual TRON logo on it.  ;D  Rock!

Please consider adding yourself to the list if you plan to build a cabinet in the future (like myself) or have one already!

I will email pronto.  I just wish I had a job right now,  I'd buy 3.  (Need to keep some as backups, just in case you know!)

csbelli:
I just ordered 2 Tron sticks. It looks like today is the last day to order and I don't think he is even close to 50. I think this will be a great addition to my cab when I finish it.

Grasshopper:
Are there any pictures of Tron joystick handles on the Web?

Also it is not clear to me whether this guy is selling just the handle or the entire joystick. If it is the former then what joystick would you attach the handle to?

The words "Tron Joystick Handles" are mentioned several times.  If they are exact repros, they will be made to fit the original hardware.  However, you  can easily hack almost any trigger-stick handle to fit standard Happs joysticks.  Look here: http://www.oscarcontrols.com/projects/triggerstick.shtml  BTW, aluminum shafts from hobby stores work better (and are cheaper) than nutdriver shafts...

I would snap up two of these if I wasn't flat broke!  :'(
