Joystick Wiring Problem

Looking from above the stick, if you push the stick up, the actuator moves down, and moving the stick right moves the actuator left.

How this looks from the bottom depends how you flip the case.  If you flip it sideways, then up still is the lowwer switch, but right is now the right switch.  (If you flip foward/backwards, the right says with the left switch, but up is now upper switch.)  Your drawing shows it as if you flipped both ways.

And I'm not sure exactly why you are looking at it other than the way I said, but you haven't said the diagram was incorrect, so...

Your wiring is correct if you were to hold the joystick in it's normally mounted position and the just roll it completely forward to view from the bottom.

Can you clarify on

The problem was me attempting to hook up a harness for the controller without taking the original harness off.

But now it is jut the controller connected to all switches, so it works.
