I've already completed 1 touch-screen project but the other day I bought an ex-POS for the bargain price of £20 delivered. It's a Casio QT-8000 unit, which is essentially a tablet PC as the 1.2Ghz PC is integrated into the rear of the 15" touch-screen monitor. However, I took a chance as it came without any cables so am after a power lead for this unit. From online documentation I've discovered it's got a 110v power supply and requires a 19v power adapter. Simple enough yes, but I'm having difficulty finding one as it has an unusual power jack: It's a great unit and I'm hoping I can get it up and running. It supports XP and was working when last tested by the seller so hopefully it will work out to be a great bargain. So, does anyone know where I can get an appropriate substitute power adapter in the UK or will ship to the UK? |

Can you open the unit up to see where the terminals go to? You may be able to wire directly to the back of the jack from a suitable PSU if you can't find the correct male jack. I guess you will need a 230v PSU rated at 19v, if you found an original 110v PSU I guess you would need a stepdown unless it takes 110-230v. My touchscreen needs 60w, do you know what yours requires? I'm not too hot with electronics so take everything above with a pinch of salt, or even better get an answer from someone who knows what they are on about. :) I just thought I would add my £0.02 in case it helps. |

I had to buy one similar to that for my Elo touchscreen. Hard to tell from the picture, but is it like this? http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Power-AC-Adapter-for-4-pin-tip,-19V-4.74A-90W_W0QQitemZ370179776267QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=&itemid=370179776267 or this? http://cgi.ebay.com/Li-Shin-LSE0208A1965-19V-AC-adapter-4-pin-Sanyo-TV-LCD_W0QQitemZ350238940046QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLaptop_Adapters_Chargers?hash=item518bde1b8e I found those on ebay from this Google search results page (200 more hits): http://www.google.com/search?q=%224+pin%22+19v+site%3Aebay.com&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a Good luck! |

Thanks guys. I would do that Franco but when it comes to wiring I don't like dicking around with power supplies and the like, so a hack is out the question this time round. Enskpo - that's exactly the type I was looking for. After doing a search on ebay uk with your parameters I've found plenty of suppliers who do this, so I will pick one up from there. |

Ah, nice. That was an easy solution :) |
