Problems with my LEDWiz
Dudeman:
Ok... I'm bumfuzzeled.
I've been working on getting one of my CPs wired for LEDs. I've gotten them all wired up and when I hook it up I cannot get it to work right.
First, I hooked it up to an external PS because on this panel I'm running 40 LEDs and I didn't want to tax the capabilities of the board.
This is what I get (minus a few LEDs. I couldn't get them all on my drawing):
All the lights come on regardless of what the LEDWiz is doing.
The I decided to forget the external ps and just use the LEDWiz. So then I get this:
Lights do nothing... regardless of the LEDWiz.
So I hook up ONE LED to test if this thing even works. I use the LumaAura control for GGG to turn on #16 and I get this:
I turn off #16 and get this:
So far so good, but...
I turn on #15, and get this!!!!
What the !??!!!?!?!!
Also, here is a pic of my LEDWiz:
I know it looks like a freaking mess. Some will say that must be the problem, but I've tested every pin (twice) to make sure nothing is shorted together.
The box has 3 different connectors, 1 for each CP.

I will try and help. I just installed my first LED Wiz and it was a learning experience. We did get it working correctly though:) With help from RandyT at GGG.
What we did is we took a 5volt from the power supply (with an inline fuse from radio shack) and ran that to a terminal strip (right term?) Image below of what i mean.
We then hooked the red wire of the led to the terminal strip and the other led wire to each input of the LED Wiz. So each LED is wired to 5 volts on the terminal strip and to the LED Wiz
We then wired the voltage banks together, this is what RandyT said to do. What I mean is we took a small piece of wire and hooked 1-8 8-16 16-32 so they were all wired togther. We did this becasue we dont have anything but LED's on the Led Wiz and they only need the 5 volts for each bank. Then we ran a wire from one of the voltage banks and ran it to the terminal strip.
The LED's I used are the Nova Gems from GGG.
Hope this helps. And hope I explained it right!

Dudeman:
That is pretty much the way I have it hooked up. I talked to Randy and he said I broke it. :badmood:

I said quite a bit more than offering just that as a possibility. Did you, as I suggested, extract the unit from that massive amount of wiring to make sure that the issue is with the LED-Wiz and not a wiring error of some nature?
There's really no other way to know, and there's much anyone can do to solve the issue while it's still buried in there.
