MAME and Reproduction Star Wars Yoke (Require Assistance Setting up MAME)

Daviea:

Hey guys,

I am about to release the reproduction Star Wars yoke, but I wanted to personally test the yoke and the USB adapter with MAME before I send them out.  I've been trying to run Star Wars on MAMEUI32, but it's giving me some grief.  Each time I try to run the program with standard  SW ROM images, I get various file not found errors.  There's usually only one file missing.  Anyhow, I'm getting pretty tired of this, so I decided to suck it up and ask for help here on BYOAC.

I couldn't even get Paperboy or 720 to work under MAMEUI32.  I have all the ROMs... or, at least I think I do.  I give up.

I really need for someone to guide me.  I need exact instructions on which version of MAME to get, where to get it, where to get the exact files I need to run STAR WARS.  I saw that there is a command line version of MAME available.  Can this be used with any sort of GUI to make life easier for me?  I like the concept of MAMEUI32, but the fact that everything I try to run on it gives me file not found errors, I don't know if I want to keep going in that direction.....

Help?

Thanks,

Dave

Update:

Well, I got SOME of my existing ROMs to work with MAMEUI32, but none that matter to me (Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Firefox, Paperboy, etc).

I guess now all I need to do is find "complete" rom zips for those games?  Fun.

HaRuMaN:

You aren't using the correct romset for that version of MAME.

Daviea:

Hmmm...  I've got some digging to do, I suppose.
