Dreamcast disc image formats/discjuggler / nullDC
« on: October 31, 2009, 10:52:15 am »
Alright. I need someone who actually has a good understanding of this stuff.

NullDC, according to documentation is supposed to be able to play games of a variety of formats.   CDI (discjuggler) NRG (Nero) CCD (no idea), etc.

However for me (and I don't seem to be the only person experiencing this problem) NullCD ONLY seems to really like CDI format images.

Plus there is the whole "self booting" or "non-self booting" varieties of disc images, and you really need self booting.

Luckly I already have 2/3rd of my games in CDI format. but I for the life of me have had no luck converting any of the img, Bin, cue, Nrg, CCD etc formats to CDI.

Bin2Boot is reported to be one solution, but for me, it only yields CDI images that are no use whatsoever.

Discjuggler seems a bit cryptic to me, and It seems to want me to just open a CDI game to burn, as oposed to converting another format to CDI.

I am aware there is also at least one Dreamcast specific community, however even though, i registered, and it lists me as a new member, it has never once accepted my log on, so I am back here, hoping maybe somewhat has a clue with Dreamcast emulation and has been through all of this.

Feel free to PM me.
