--- Quote from: Kronos on October 28, 2009, 03:13:59 pm ---that wasnt bitching, thats just all i have left to do. Back to my ?, the problem is that I am using a dell gx260 and it doesnt have wires going to it. It has a little circuit board with a button connected by a ribbon cable to another circuit board that has a headphone jack and a usb port on it that is then connected to the MB. --- End quote --- Just a tip here for folks asking questions; POST PHOTOS! It's likely to result in a quicker answer. To be brutally honest, if folks who are describing a situation don't have the ability to understand the issue they are having the problem with, they very probably also don't have the ability to accurately describe the situation. But the "generic" answer is that there has to be a switch there somewhere. Look at the board where the terminals of the switch (or the other board where the wires terminate) and duplicate that connection with a switch routed to your cabinet back panel. Photos are required for anything more specific. RandyT |

What power on options are there in the BIOS ? You may or may not have a power on after power outage option. (which has also been discussed many times) |

I know my Dell GX110 has a "Power on after AC failure", so this one probably does too. I just have everything on a power strip. I turn on the power strip and everything comes on. |

Bitslimited smart strip - a must for every MAME cab. (edit - been awhile maybe a better solution these days ) You hook your PC into the out let and everytime you turn it on everything else fires up. Your PC - look where the power button is connected to the motherboard. Remove power button connector, chop the end off leaving enough to strip and connect wires to. Use a button of your choice and a connect the wires to the cherry switch. Or use another type of momentary switch. And lastly - when you post it is MUCH more helpful "especially for the search engine" to use the proper titling instead of "Need Help!". |

Run the switch to whereever your currenty pc power button is connect. If you want all devices such as lights, screen etc all turn on with that same switch just use a 12v/120v relay and hardwire it to a powerbar & computer 12v supply line. Plug all other devices (not PC) into this bar. When you push this button all devices on your cab will power on at the same time. |
