How are you going to blame Mexico or foreign cars for this?

UAW=POS

And yes, my father-in-law is in the UAW....

I'm not defending it but whats a switch made by texas instruments got to do with the UAW?

I dont know why I'm getting flamed here, but a vendor part is to blame.

Did you see me posting on here about the 3.8 million toyota's that got recalled by a vendor part?

Vendor parts are to be assumed to be in perfect operational condition when received for installation. I'm sure the R&D of the switch at the time was at its best and now that additinal research has been done, the recall is voluntary. Yes, the switch was made by Texas Instruments. TI will be sporting the bill for this!

As for your jab at the UAW, what is your beef with the UAW? The UAW is my choice for labor representation. If you dont feel you need representation, then fine, continue to work for what the company feels you are worth and not you feel you are worth! The old school UAW is gone and the ever changed UAW in here. The UAW adapted before any of the Big 3 and 98% of the 'old skool' are retired and the mentallity has retired with them. Apparently you havent read the new terms of the new agreement reached just yesterday (10/13/09) which gives concessions to the company. With my UAW, I have a choice. With your non-Union shop or office, you have what they give you and nothing you can do about it but:
1) Whine, like 99% of non-Union workers do when the company takes something away.
2) Wonder where you went wrong with your "I dont need no one to stick up for me, I'll do it myself!" attitude
3) Think how you can screw the company, when in turn you really cant.
4) Talk yourself into quitting your job just to show your now ex-boss he cant do that to you!

I can go on and on.

There are many fine company's out there where Union repsentation isnt needed because they have figured out that a well compensated, promoted and 'patted on the back" employee is a happy employee and therefore puts in more than the required 110%, therefore is more profitable to the company rather than the disgruntled.

But, so many company's thought process is to belittle the workforce and remind them 'who is boss' mentality gets them minimal production and therefore cuts into the bottom line of profitability.

But Hoopz, I guess you wouldnt understand!

Remember, you picked the fight, not me!

Go to the dealer and they will have the recall on file. Now if it was an OEM factory installed part, then they will fix it free of charge. If it was an OEM kit, had installed by a dealer , then they will replace it. If it is OEM DIY kit, they might replace the kit, but I think you may be on your own for the re-install.
