What's up guys! So i've finally taken the time to start assembling the cab along with some friends. Pics are coming, I'm hoping sometime later today. I'm going to keep u guys updated. Later!

what is it with the sign jeeeez... It's kinda like "whats up!". I'm in no way recreating a hippie moment from the 60's. Soooo about the cab...

My parents were hippies. I was a child of the 80s.

Do you see the gap in generation there ?

It is nice to see you young folks building cabs, but let's not be stupid about our cultural references ... otherwise we old folks will just assume that you listen to Miley Cyrus and play Street Fighter 11ty12 Super Secret Rainbow Edition all day ...

Did you see how stupid that was ?

Although I would bet that at least 50% of it is true !

Don't fret Funnel, these guys are cool. They probably missed out on a chance to buy a EDOT or something so they're a little PO'ed and impatient ...

I just learned something new today, because in Denmark the V-sign is a victory symbol and not a peace sign.

But I now know the history, thanks to wikipedia

What a great place BYOAC is, I constantly learn weird things like how to cut plexiglass and stuff like that.

In all seriousness, your point is well-taken. We don't have enough folks in this hobby to be snobby about it. It shouldn't matter whether or not folks share the same connection to the arcade experience as the old farts. I applaud their efforts and REALLY applaud the OP and his friends having so much fun building a cab ...

... and will support them however I can.

But, really, confusing the 60s and the 80s ?

Welp - banging that can some more - Slayer is really an 80s band. Sure, they put stuff out after Seasons (which, while released in '90 was a great album), but it ain't worth listening to.

The Victory sign is actually the backside of a piece sign. Winston Churchill was famous for it.

Sorry I didn't read this before replying. I think the victory sign is normally the 'peace' way around although it can be either...

The 'other' way around is like the grandfather of the middle finger gesture...that might not be 100% true historically but of course it is offensive!

Seasons is a great album... I remember playing Skeletons of Society when i was building "the beast" I wish i could find the tracks without vocals...they make great intro music for the cabs...

I STILL say Dude and Awesome a little too much. I used to do the peace sign in my teens. I'd much prefer to see young uns doing that today than the stupid side-ways "gangsta" finger sign.

Dude, I say "dude" WAY too much. I say "totally" a lot, but not always in front of "awesome" (which I say all the time).

I also say "man" wherever I can in a conversation.

"Tubular" and "rad" never found their way into my vocabulary, but "wicked" is a good word.
