Ambient sounds
« on: October 21, 2009, 11:12:41 am »
I am looking to see if there are any good files out there without the extra background noise of people like the file used in game ex. I have listed to this one but I dont like it.

GameEx uses the Arcade Ambiance soundtrack.  I don't remember which one off the top of my head, but there are 3 different ones that Andy put together last I checked.  I have never seen any others made available, so hopefully, if another one exists, someone will post a link.

EDIT:  Huh, looks like Andy's made a new one.  There are now 4 to choose from.

They seem to have a little too much background noise. the one in GameEx I dont hear that just the games. Mabey I need to relisten to all four of them again.

I figured it out, I am running it through my 5.1 system as ambient sound and with it set to certain suround fields it just explodes the voices in the background on some of the clips through the front surround. Ill just disconect the front and I think Ill be alright.

Always nice to hear that someone was taken back 2 or 3 decades after hearing them.

I don't like it for it's intended use, but, yeah, it's cool to sit an listen to for a spell.

Sometimes I use Arcade Ambiance '83 to drown out the noise at work.

I sit at a computer all day restoring court clerk and county clerk documents. I have my headphones on the whole time listening to music, podcasts, audiobooks, and anything else to keep me sane. I also spend way too much time HERE while I'm at it.
