It is a curious fact, and one to which no one knows quite how much importance to attach, that something like 85% of all known worlds in the Galaxy, be they primitive or highly advanced, have invented a drink called jynnan tonnyx, or gee-N’N-T’N-ix, or jinond-o-nicks, or any one of a thousand or more variations on the same phonetic theme. The drinks themselves are not the same, and vary between the Sivolvian “chinanto/mnigs” which is ordinary water served at slightly above room temperature, and the Gagrakackan “tzjin-anthony-ks” which kills cows at a hundred paces; and in fact the one common factor between all of them, beyond the fact that the names sound the same, is that they were all invented and named before the worlds concerned made contact with any other worlds.
But wasn't it fun to think you won the lottery, just for a second there???

The idea that a drink is only appropriate for women (or men) is ridiculous. It's just marketing BS.

If you like a particular drink then you should just enjoy it, whatever your sex.

stay away from Tangueray it'll give you a headache.

Women generally drink liquor mixed with juice to kill the taste of the booze, guys tend to drink things mixed with soda.  This isn't a hard and fast rule though. I used to work at a nightclub and ring up 2K - 25 hundo a night Thurs - Sat, most girls got a sex on the beach cape codder, sea breeze, etc while guys generally went with gin & tonic, capt and coke or jack and coke.

Ilhch. Jack is harsh. Beam on the other hand is easy straight.

Gin is harsh (belgian whites make me think of gin)...but, back in high school one night it was okay with some kind of lemonade stuff. Got sloppy drunk from one glass, probly half full of each.

For the record, I first got hooked drinking Gin n' Tonics with Reverend Horton Heat. Gin and Tonic isn't a ladies drink, it's a ladies-man drink.
As the Great Reverend says, "Young girls and Gin may be the cure".

Mmmm... nervous system depressant mixed with cardiovascular system stimulant.  That's a winner!   :laugh2:

I've seen two different people - both who could most definitely hold their liquor - end up sitting in a pool of their own vomit off those.  It's just a bad concept, IMO.

Then they cant hold their liquor. I drink about 6 a sitting along with my other alcohol (Bass or Harp, rum and coke, occasional mind eraser or two (prefer apple to coffee) and others). Hell my GF can hold 3 or 4 if thats all she drinks, lol

Trust me, these guys can hold it.  That's not the issue.  I wonder if it's just some people.

Still, conceptually, just seems stupid to me.  An upper and a downer at the same time?   :dunno  There's just no fun in that.

EDIT:  I just looked up a couple "recipes" for it on the net... looks like around here people are making them differently.  None of these recipes have a full can of Red Bull in it but that's how a lot of folks here are doing it.  They're just dropping a shot of Jaeger in the full can/glass.

Edit, GF saw this and said she can drink at least 4 and her girly drinks and while she'd be ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- faced, she wouldnt puke, lol

They're just dropping a shot of Jaeger in the full can/glass.

Thats called a jaeger bomb and its normally not a full can of RB.  Typically you fill up a whiskey glass enough to "cover" a shot glass of jaeger and then shoot it all at once.  Or you could just do away with the shot glass alltogether.

If you just drinking RB and vodka, then my mix is usually about 1/3 vodka 2/3 RB - total quantity depends on whatever size glass your using.  For me thats usually a medium sized drinking cup.

I think the whole concept is that you get drunk but are still "going" per se.  The problem is that eventually the liquor catches up and overtakes all and you end up in a pile of your own puke.

Believe me, I know what its called :) I am not a fan of RB and vodka, it just tasted really awful; the jager and RB is at least a little tasteful (though much like cough syrup) Ive never had an issue with the liquor catching up, I guess Im just built differently; the curse of being half german half irish. I have found that if I break the seal I actually get less "tipsy" though Im not sure if thats all in my head or not

Dudes I'm talking about are from Dublin.  Doesn't seem to matter.  I wouldn't be surprised if it's more about 12 cans of red bull in two hours.

If you insist on drinking something with Red Bull, ask for an Irish Trashcan. Yum.

I used to buy Bombay Sapphire exclusively. Lately, I've started buying Gordons London Dry; it mixes a nicer Manhattan or Vesper, but the Bombay is still nicer in a gin and tonic. Is it uncouth to stock two different gins in your home liquor cabinet?

I wonder the same about caffeine in training supplements. (And don't some have ephidrine??)  Yeah, let's go exert ourselves intensely, and constrict blood flow.

Anyways, you wanna stay up and drink - and, arguably, have one of the best highs to be had - powder your nose while you slowly nurse a few beers. Smooooooth.

One night I sat down and drank 80% of a liter of Jaeger and didn't even have a mild buzz.  Granted I was at one of my boozing peaks at that point but I don't think that stuff is nearly as strong as everyone pretends it to be.
It's only 70 proof, so it's a bit less then most vodkas, rums, and gins, plus it tastes like cough syrup, so I'm not sure why it's so popular.

Point is, teenagers aren't looking for finesse. they just need something cheap and nasty to get hammered on. Teenagers are honest in that regard. All alcohol tastes like metho in my opinion, just the degree of foulness varies, and how sugary the drink is to start. From nearly ok like vodka, to 'so feral you have to wonder how it cold have been invented', like bourbon or sambucca.

Adults pretend they are drinking for the taste. But would you really drink it if it tasted exactly the same, but it had zero per cent alcohol? Be honest...

Edit: I drink usually when i'm at a nightclub and there's a remote chance i could score  ;D Women in nightclubs are suspicious of guys who don't drink...

You can see Malenko falling into that crap along with the "zomg red bull makes you stay up AAAALLLL night!" lies that aren't true either.

Go have a nice tall glass of stfu?  Jager doesnt get me wasted and red bull doesnt keep me up all night. Combined I get a tasty drink that doesn't ---fudgesicle--- me up and keeps me away till last call. I work day shift and staying out till 1am is hard to do when you hit your 30s.

Anytime you order a "drink" you arent trying to get wasted, if that was your intent you'd just do straight up alcohol with no chaser or chase with another form of alcohol. Im from the school of "go out drinking with friends and have a good time" not the school of "get so ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- faced you cant function and/or be an assclown retard"

I also dont drink Jagerbombs to try an impress you.

I would suggest it's the opposite. Personally, I can't stand Sapphire, but damned if that isn't what my gin drinking friends prefer. As for me I'll take a Tanqueray Ten and tonic with a large wedge of lime, time and time again. Aside from an occasional Cider, it's pretty much all I drink. I've had a bottle of both in my bar for years now.

I also dont drink Jagerbombs to try an impress you.

I'm glad you cleared that up, cause the previous two paragraphs implied otherwise.

Jägermeister and Red Bull, get drunk and stay awake

Jager doesnt get me wasted and red bull doesnt keep me up all night.

Indeed.

sweet, we're playing the quote game!

Can you quote me where I said I get drunk on Jager? Naw you cant, cause I never said I do, cause I dont. Its just what I prefer to drink while out drinking.  KK, now quote me where I said I stay up all night. Awwwww, you cant do that either? Prolly cause I said it helps keep me awake till last call. Staying awake till last call (1am in Delaware) is FAR from all night. I haven't stayed up all night since my early 20s and I did that on Mt.Dew no alcohol required.

Also, if you're gonna misquote me and edit it to be out of context, at least remember to remove the latter quotation mark.

cause you can drop it in red bull and have a tasty beverage?

How about the decades before Red Bull?   ;D

I used to drink a lot of Jagr.  I just sort of liked it.  Used to keep a bottle in the freezer for the occasional 70 proof ice cream headache.

First, to the OP don't listen to this nonsense about all drinks being gender neutral.  Gin and tonic is a perfectly respectable drink for a guy.  It's not gonna put hair on your chest, but it's nothing to be ashamed of.  But that doesn't mean that you should be drinking Zimas (R.I.P.) or things that look/taste like kool-aid.  Not only is that stuff emasculating, but it's just a bad idea to drink it.  It's not just made for girls; it's made for girls who don't like to drink (girls who like drinking drink the same thing as guys).  If you drink any substantial amount of that sort of thing you will spend the night next to the toilet.  In short, when someone says, "That's a girl-drink," they don't mean "girl" literally.  They mean it pejoratively.  There's no such thing as "guy's drinks".  Nobody thinks it strange or improper for a girl to drink a whiskey and coke or to take a shot of tequila.  "Girl's drinks" aren't for girls.  They are for idiots people who make poor decisions.

Also . . . jesus, a little over a month ago I drank a bunch of vodka/redbull at my birthday party.  I remember only a small portion of that night and I have the vaguest memory of puking on the stairs in a club.  The next day I went into my flat and could smell red bull and immediately felt queezy.  Just now when I was reading the posts about yager bombs the memory of the taste of red bull came to me and I feel queezy again.

Also, yager is disgusting and always has been.  It tastes like Nyquil.

Please do not disparage the comparatively delightful taste of Nyquil like that again.  :P
