So if i dont have a cab an want to get a monitor for my desktop would this be the best bet or can i get a tv that would be better. I would love to have an arcade monitor but there is no case on so i can use it on my desktop. iI want to play the classics

Jack Burton:

It would make a decent desktop monitor, but you would have to live with 800x600 for your resolution.  This is livable if you mostly just want to use your desktop for gaming, but is unsuitable for daily computing.

If you used this monitor for your desktop I would combine it with a typical PC monitor and go for a dual display setup, using the regular PC monitor for internet and other pc functions, and leave the Mitsubishi for MAME and older console emulators.  I do this a Sony PVM 12" monitor and a monitor switch and it works very well.

i actually just use my pc for MAME anyway but is this monitor as close as im going to get to an arcade monitor or is a TV better.

Jack Burton:

It's miles better than a TV.

For all intents and purposes it IS an arcade monitor.  It just happens to have  plastic casing around it.

thats what i was looking for Awsome!! is there any other monitors like this one with the casing around it.
