In Arlington, at one time, the city had put up those "speeding camera" down the middle of a busy thruway.
Everyone hated them, but, there they were, till some guy got a ticket for speeding, and the city dutifully sent a picture of his car, the date and time, with him and someone NOT his wife in the front seat, to his house....
Needless to say, there was a lawsuit, he won a big chunk o change and the camera's all came down.
I'm just wondering how long it'll be before someone takes a photo like this but of an identifiable person, who then turns around and sues the cell phone maker for putting concealable cameras into cell phones.
Or has that already happened and I missed it.
Oh, and the cameras a back up again, now. but they're at stop lights, the only photo the tail end of your car with the license plate, you can't even see anyone in the car, and the tickets are civil violations, not moving violations so they don't ping your insurance (supposedly, though I'm guessing it's just a matter of time before the insurance cos figure out how to link up with that data and "adjust" your rates accordingly
