bkenobi:

Get Rustoleum hammered finish if you want to get that dimpled look back.  If you don't care, a standard spray will work fine.

It could very well mean the difference between adding a hub or not depending on your MOBO I havent heard of any coin door Lights yet that are powered by 6VDC. Their either 5V or 12V.

yeah, it was a 5V bulb but i already had the wall wart just sitting there and it was the closest to the voltage i needed.  the first one i tried was 12V, wow did that make those mothers light up bright!!!

I would sand or bead blast the coin door. It leaves a good surface to repaint. I have access to a blasting cabinet which makes life easier.

I took mine to a powder coating place. They blasted it and used a wrinkle finish powder coat on it. I also had them do the coin chutes. The color for the coin chute was called chrome but it looks silver. I think the door looks pretty decent though.
