| rfr341:
I have to replace a 330 ohm 30 watt ceramic cement wire wound resistor on my mtc 9000 and I can't find a replacement resistor of that size an make, there doesn't seem to be anyone selling ceramic cement wire wound resistors with that high wattage. My question is can I replace the ceramic cement resistor with an aluminum covered wire wound resistor? I have found one that is 330 ohm 50 watt. |

As long as the additional impedance created by the wire coil isn't an issue (is the resistor seeing DC or AC? Frequency?) the higher wattage resistor should work fine. |
